Botox is the most popular physician-administered cosmetic treatment in the U.S., used as an effective way to reduce fine lines and wrinkles on the face and neck. Botox or Dysport, medically known as Botulinum Toxin Type A, is a prescription medicine that is injected directly into the muscles to block nerve impulses, which essentially paralyzes the muscle and stops the contraction. The Botox procedure only takes 10-15 minutes.
Botox/Dysport effects generally are noticeable 3-14 days after the procedure, but in some cases take up to two weeks to see the full effect.

How is the Botox procedure performed?
Botox is injected with a fine needle into specific muscles, with only minor discomfort. The Botox or Dysport procedure takes only a few minutes and no anesthesia is required.

How long does Botox last?
The effects of Botox or Dysport differ in length according to the patient.
As muscle action gradually returns, the lines and wrinkles begin to reappear and will need to be re-treated to maintain the effect. After repeated Botox injections, the lines and wrinkles will often appear less severe and less often because the muscles are being trained repeatedly to relax. Results of Botox/Dysport procedures performed for treating underarm sweating last up to 7 months. Individual results may vary.

Not all Botox Treatments are Equal.
Botox administered at one practice may not necessarily equal to the Botox/Dysport of another practice. Botox is supplied in a manufacturers' vial. In order to be able to inject the active units of Botox , the physician must add saline to convert it to a liquid form”. This process known as reconstitution enables the Botox to be extracted from the vial into the syringe. However during the reconstitution process some physicians and practitioners add more saline than recommended. The more saline that is added to the Botox vial, the less concentrated units will be present in the syringe.
Dr. Karina Bibicheff follows manufacturer’s guidelines on reconstitution so you are assured of the efficacy of the product.
Also, many facilities quote a price based on area. But what is their definition of an area? They may actually be breaking up what is considered one area into two areas. With this in mind, you should be cautious when practices offer Botox at bargain prices. At Vita Med Spa we charge by the unit for Botox so that you only pay for the exact number of units you receive.
