Introducing
Perlane®, the Newest Addition to the Restylane®
Family of Products
Perlane
is now approved in the U.S. for the treatment of
moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as
the lines from the nose to the corners of your mouth
(nasolabial folds).
The
hyaluronic acid gel in Perlane adds volume
and restores surface contours to smooth away moderate
to severe facial wrinkles and folds. Perlane
is composed of larger gel particles than Restylane and intended for deeper injection to volumize skin for better structural
support. The procedure is convenient and non-surgical,
and the results are seen virtually instantaneous.

Frequently
asked questions

What
happens to skin when I am aging?
Hyaluronic
acid is a naturally occurring substance in your skin.
Its job is to help provide fullness and elasticity.
Over time, skin loses hyaluronic acid. As it diminishes,
skin loses volume, increasing the chances for wrinkles
and folds to appear.
Can
I improve my skin appearance?
You
have the power to influence your appearance. Restylane
and Perlane provide rejuvenating cosmetic
beauty treatments for a natural, younger-looking you.
Restylane is the world's best-selling
dermal filler. It is well tolerated, nonsurgical and
long lasting (usually around six months).
What
is the difference between Restylane or Perlane?
Restylane and Perlane are both composed
of hyaluronic acid. Perlane has larger
gel particles and is intended to be injected deeper
within the skin.
How
does skin age?
Young
skin is smooth and full. Your skin is going to change
with age. But the good news is, there's something you
can do about it.
1
– Restylane
or Perlane is injected into the skin to
restore volume to correct moderate to severe facial
wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your nose
to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds).
2
– Restylane or Perlane gives
natural-looking results by restoring your skin's fullness.
How
do Restylane and Perlane work?
The
idea is simple—Restylane and Perlane
are cosmetic dermal fillers that add volume within the
skin. They consist of hyaluronic acid. In the human
body, natural hyaluronic acid provides volume and fullness
to skin. After treatment with Restylane
or Perlane, the hydrophilic, or "water
loving," nature of the hyaluronic acid molecules
allows them to bind many times their own weight in water
as they slowly break down. This process helps maintain volume for about six months.
What
do Restylane and Perlane do?
The
explanation is really quite simple. Restylane
and Perlane both use hyaluronic acid to
replace lost volume and restore youthful contours to
smooth away moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds,
such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your
mouth (nasolabial folds). But what they don't do is
just as important. You'll still look like yourself—just
rejuvenated.
Are
Restylane and Perlane safe?
Restylane
is the world's most studied cosmetic dermal filler with
more than a decade of use. Restylane and
Perlane have well-defined safety profiles
and are approved for the treatment of moderate to severe
facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your
nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds).
Restylane has been used in over 1.4 million
treatments in the U.S. and is available in more than
70 countries, with dozens of studies published in medical
literature. Clinical studies have shown no significant
differences in the safety of Restylane
and Perlane.
Restylane
and Perlane
contain no animal proteins. This
may limit the risk of animal-based disease transmission
or allergic reactions. Both products contain trace amounts
of gram positive bacterial proteins and are contraindicated
for patients with a history of allergies to such material.
No allergy testing is required before use.
What
side effects can I experience after Restylane®
or
Perlane®
treatment?
After
your treatment with Restylane or Perlane,
you may have some swelling, redness, pain, bruising,
and tenderness. This will normally last less than seven
days.
