an integrated cooled sapphire tip with a Zimmer cooling device
which increases patient comfort and safety. Diode laser technology
remains the gold standard treatment of unwanted hair which delivers
predictable and reliable results. We offer customized treatment
programs according to your hair color, texture, and body hair
location.
Is laser hair removal FDA cleared?
Yes, Diode 810mm Sonata Laser by Alma (formally Orion)
is FDA cleared for safety and remains the gold standard treatment
of unwanted hair by using CW Pulse ™ Technology a unique
technology uses a combination of overlapping pulses to selectively
heat the hair without damaging the skin and resulting in less
pain with better results.
Why does it take more than one treatment?
Hair grows in cycles. The laser only disables the hair
in the active stage of growth at the time of treatment. It does,
however affect the hairs in the early and late stages. The hairs
that return are those that were not in the active stage of growth
at the time of the treatment. They appear lighter in color and
finer in texture. We do see some results after just one treatment,
but a series of treatments are needed to have a significant clearance
of hair.
Can you do laser hair removal anywhere on your body?
We can do laser hair removal just about anywhere on the
body. The most common areas for women are the face, bikini, underarms,
and legs. Men usually like to do hair removal at the back and
shoulders, front of the neck (common place for ingrown hairs )
as well as the glabella (place between the eyebrows). We do arms,
legs, toes, underarms, and much more.
Does laser hair removal hurt?
You won’t fall asleep in the treatment chair but
you will not be in pain. The lasers we use have built in cool
stream of air that cools the skin immediately before the laser
fires; most patients describe the treatment as a series of light
pricks or rubber band snaps against the skin
Men
and Laser Hair Removal
Laser hair removal is becoming increasingly popular for
men. Most want to remove unwanted hair on their back, chest, legs,
shoulder, and neck.
Laser hair removal is quickly becoming the preferred choice for
hair removal for men due to the large amount of hair in these
areas. Other hair removal methods for this large an area can be
quite costly, tine consuming, and painful. Laser hair removal
is able to remove large amounts of hair with on laser pulse.
For example, laser hair removal can take approximately one hour
of less to treat the entire back. Electrolysis can take up to
100 hours in order to treat the entire back not to mention the
pain, expense, and time associated with each treatment.
Many athletic men enjoy the benefits of laser hair removal. Men
who have gained a level of fitness and muscle one don’t
want to hide their attractive muscles behind a thick coating of
hair.
Razor bumps or ingrown hairs
or PseudoFolliculitis Barbae, the bumps and ingrown
hairs on the face that replace the larger “terminal”
hair with smaller, thinner, “basy” or “vessels”
fine hair can successfully treat this condition.
Processes such as waxing, plucking, tweezing, or close shaving
routinely produce a worsening of Pseudo Folliculitis Barbae, ingrown
hair of razor bumps. Those procedures might damage hair follicle
or shalf and increase Pseudo Folliculitis Barbae ingrown hair
or razor bumps.
An ingrown hair is a hair which remains underneath the skin after
it becomes infected and spotted, can cause great discomfort. This
inflammation can produce permanent scarring and/or color changes
of the skin such as darkening of the skin-hyper pigmentation or
the enlightening of the skin-hypo pigmentation.
